Master Facilities Manager

Job Description:

The Master Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance and Engineering functions, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests. This role leads the daily operations of the Engineering Team, ensuring that all maintenance tasks and objectives are executed efficiently to maintain the property and hotel operations at peak performance.

This includes planning and carrying out preventative maintenance throughout the Hotel to ensure standards are maintained for a positive guest experience. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and controlling the Maintenance Request System, regularly analyzing the System regarding frequent guest or Property issues, timeliness of Requests/Jobs and suggesting and implementing any improvements based on analysis.

The Master Facilities Manager will delegate the completion of general repairs and maintenance to the property within the Engineering team or contractors as required. They will champion resource management improvements and conservation, and be responsible for the testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting etc. on a routine basis as required by local Council and Fire Service.

Liaison with the Director of Engineering and Director of Finance will be required regarding use of contractors within the Hotel, controlling expenditure and ensuring work is to the standard required by manufacturer specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualified Engineer (preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical etc)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards related to facilities management.
  • Body/Owners Corporation Experience.
  • Strong project Management experience
