About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at Gunnedah Basin Haulage (GBH), a fully owned subsidiary of Whitehaven Coal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for shift planning, assigning tasks to employees, monitoring production targets, and initiating improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use your initiative to clarify tasks, initiate improvements, and work with minimal supervision in a coordinated manner with peers.
  • Supervise and direct MC Drivers, providing pre-shift information, shift planning, and assigning employees to specific tasks.
  • Monitor haulage performance to ensure delivery of business-critical outputs.
  • Provide training, coaching, and development, and maintain appropriate training documentation.
  • Maintain and develop safe working practices across the team and wider operation at all times.
  • Ensure shift planning is coordinated correctly to optimise production.
  • Ensure Haulage trucks are maintained and used correctly to minimise downtime.
Requirements
  • Detail-oriented with an approachable nature.
  • Mining or general heavy industry/haulage experience in a supervisor, team lead, or leadership position.
  • Risk management experience.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of OH&S legislation and statutory requirements in NSW.
  • RIIRIS301D – Apply Risk Management Processes (essential).
  • RIIWHS301D – Conduct safety and Health Investigations (essential).
  • RIICOM301D – Communicate Information (essential).
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • RIIRIS402D Carry out the risk management process (desirable).
