About the Role Gunnedah Basin Haulage (GBH) is a fully owned subsidiary of Whitehaven Coal and we currently have a vacancy for an experienced Operations Supervisor. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for shift planning, assigning tasks to employees, monitor production targets, and initiate improvements.
What You’ll Do Working in a highly collaborative, fast paced and dynamic environment, key responsibilities will include;
Use your initiative to clarify your tasks, initiate improvements and work with minimal supervision and in a coordinated manner with your peers. Supervise and direct the MC Drivers including provision of pre-shift information, shift planning, and assigning employees to specific tasks. Monitor haulage performance to ensure delivery of business-critical outputs. Provide training, coaching and development, and maintain appropriate training documentation. Maintain and develop safe working practices across the team and wider operation at all times. Ensure shift planning is coordinated correctly to optimise production. Ensure Haulage trucks are maintained and used correctly to minimise downtime.What You’ll Bring The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with an approachable nature; ideally you will also bring:
Mining or general heavy industry / haulage experience in a supervisor, team lead or leadership position. Risk management experience Problem-solving Knowledge of OH&S legislation and statutory requirements in NSW RIIRIS301D – Apply Risk Management Processes (essential) RIIWHS301D – Conduct safety and Health Investigations (essential) RIICOM301D – Communicate Information (essential) Current Driver’s Licence RIIRIS402D Carry out the risk management process (desirable)Why Whitehaven?
