Maintenance Planner Position

**Job Summary:**

The Maintenance Planner is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of maintenance planning, inventory management, and team collaboration. This position plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance department by promoting a health and safety culture, sustaining plant programs, and implementing continuous improvement tools.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and enhance health and safety practices within the maintenance team.
  • Sustain all plant programs, policies, and procedures as a key member of the maintenance team.
  • Assist with inventory management, planning, and scheduling training across all departments.
  • Understand contributors to cost using continuous improvement tools and work towards zero loss.
  • Implement and sustain improvements made through utilisation of MCE/Lean tools and processes.

**Operational Tasks:

  1. Develop weekly to two-week plans and facilitate weekly planning and scheduling meetings.
  2. Manage new work requests and work orders in the CMMS to ensure relative action is taken.
  3. Develop and manage work packs in line with standardised weekly planning process.
  4. Identify, source, and check parts are available for maintenance planning.
  5. Maintain reporting history against assets and work orders.
  6. Maintain inventory and safety stock levels based on asset criticality.
  7. Keep preventative maintenance plans and condition inspection routes up to date.
  8. Schedule work orders based on equipment availability, priority of work, and asset criticality.
  9. Develop critical path for shut downs jointly with Engineering Manager and Supervisors.

**Quality, Compliance, Environment, and Health and Safety:

  • Ensure quality management systems relevant to maintenance are adhered to.
  • E nsure compliance with local body, legislative, and corporate requirements.
  • Support minimisation of environmental impact of engineering/maintenance practices.

**Requirements:

  • Verifiable experience in maintenance planning/scheduling and inventory management with industry qualifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety, quality (HACCP, GMP), computerised maintenance, and environmental management systems.
  • Ability to understand and create/update documentation in the mentioned systems.
  • Team player with good organisational, people, and communication skills.
  • Logical thinker with good problem-solving skills.
