Key Role and Responsibilities

The Technology Director role is a critical position that leads the technology strategy for a sovereign investor in industrial capability.

This organization has a mandate to transform and diversify the economy across seven priority areas, including infrastructure development, systems integration, and network optimization.

  • Lead the technology portfolio, ensuring infrastructure, systems, and networks meet best practice and compliance standards.
  • Develop and execute strategic IT plans aligned with business goals and growth objectives.
  • Build and inspire a high-performing, collaborative technology team and shape the organization's technology culture.
  • Design and implement enterprise and data architecture to support innovation and scale.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board on how technology and data can drive innovation and business value.
  • Set and lead the security and governance strategy, embedding robust, proactive controls that safeguard critical systems and data.
  • Direct vendor partnerships and technology investments, driving performance, accountability, and value across the IT portfolio.
  • Harness emerging technologies to unlock innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 10+ years' experience in technology leadership, ideally within financial services or investment environments.
  • Proven success in start-up or scale-up environments would be an extra strength.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate tech into business value.
  • Expertise in Microsoft technologies (Azure, Office 365) and modern IT practices.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and team development skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; further studies in AI or machine learning highly regarded.
