Vocational Education Specialist

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Relevant formal vocational qualifications, including an undergraduate degree of at least three years' duration awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its onshore or overseas equivalent;
• A recognised specialist post graduate TESOL qualification with a supervised teaching practicum of 60 hours, with a minimum of 25 hours supervised teaching;
• At least 100 hours of teaching experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) or Adult Literacy/Numeracy in the last three years;
• Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
• Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
• Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment, including competency-based training and assessment.

This is a temporary full-time position until June 2025, unless otherwise determined. To become a TAFE Teacher, applicants must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
• TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B);
• TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
• TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor;
• TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development;
• TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor;
• A higher-level qualification in adult education approved by TAFE Queensland.

Applicants must also provide proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience at interview.
