Senior Tax Consultant

The Tax team at Australian Retirement Trust Group is responsible for delivering best practice tax risk management and providing accurate and timely information and advice on the tax position for the organization.
As a Senior Tax Consultant or Tax Manager, you will assist in providing tax compliance and advisory services to the organization, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sound analysis to advise internal stakeholders on tax implications and make recommendations on the structuring of investments.
- Work with external advisors to ensure compliance obligations in local and foreign jurisdictions are met and documented accordingly.
- Liaise with the organization's custodian to finalize, prepare, and review tax returns and statements for lodgement.
- Research and prepare advice on various taxation issues relating to the organization, having regard to the wider commercial context and implications.
- Assist in continuous improvement and the development of policies and practices, while developing and embedding new functions, processes, and cultures within the team.
- Monitor changes to legislation and accounting standards that impact the organization's operations.
- Build trusted relationships with regulators, internal, and external stakeholders.
About You
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced tax professional who can provide expert advice and guidance to our team. You will have a strong background in tax compliance and advisory services, with experience working in a professional services firm or major corporate environment.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of tax compliance and advisory services.
- Experience across different taxes, particularly Australian and foreign income tax and GST.
- A highly developed ability to provide advice, options, and support to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- An ability to identify and manage risks associated with the operation of the Tax team and focus on third-party governance.
- A relevant qualification in legal, accounting, business, or commerce.
- A postgraduate qualification or membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. CA, CPA, CTA etc.).
- Demonstrated desire and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
