
Project Cost Analyst

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications to accurately prepare estimates for materials, labor, and other project costs. This includes reviewing and interpreting project plans, specifications, and contract documents, as well as soliciting and evaluating quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities include preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services, collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to determine project requirements and constraints, and developing and maintaining cost databases and historical cost data for future projects.

Other essential duties involve identifying and mitigating potential risks that could affect project cost or schedule, analyzing project design changes and assessing their impact on project budgets, creating detailed take-offs and measurements for estimating purposes, and assisting with the preparation of bid proposals and participating in bid meetings.

Additionally, this role requires monitoring and tracking project costs against estimates throughout the project's life cycle, preparing reports and updates for management on project estimates and financial status, and keeping up-to-date with industry trends, construction materials, and pricing changes.

Required skills and qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred), as well as 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.

Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes is essential, along with proficiency in construction estimating software, ProCore and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also necessary.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards, knowledge of safety and environmental regulations within the construction industry, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off (PTO) and holidays, and company vehicle or transportation reimbursement are all key benefits.
