Lead Robotics Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct a team of engineers in developing robust software for real-world products, ensuring stability and efficiency.
  • Establish version control systems for seamless tracking of software updates.
  • Ensure backward compatibility of software, maintaining operational continuity with legacy systems.
  • Oversee the entire software lifecycle, from concept to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Maintain existing software applications, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software development with product requirements.
  • Supervise the creation of clean interfaces for integration with externally developed systems.
  • Deploy production code rapidly and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware components.
  • Prepare technical documentation and act as a technical reference for your team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in software development, including deploying software on physical hardware systems.
  • Expertise in version control systems and ensuring configuration control and backward compatibility.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining application software for operational hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with testing, debugging, and troubleshooting in deployed products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a track record of delivering high-quality work in time-sensitive environments.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and ROS.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
  • Ability to attain Baseline security clearance.
