About the Role

Berry Street is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Residential Care Program as a Youth Residential Care Worker. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality therapeutic care to children and young people aged 10 to 17 who have experienced trauma, neglect, and abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement current best practice therapeutic interventions and program guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care and child safety.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create a safe and nurturing home environment, including managing household duties and providing nutritious meals.
  • Support young people in their educational, social, and recreational pursuits while fostering independence.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A driver's license (minimum green P's) is essential for transporting young people.
  • Strong communication skills, active listening, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask with ease.
