Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Student Support Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position that will start at the beginning of Term 1 in a future year.

The successful candidate will be supporting a Year 3 student who is joining the campus with additional learning needs. You will work closely with the student's communication and learning support team to ensure their full participation in classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing strategies under the guidance of allied health professionals and classroom/learning support teachers to support the student's communication.
  • Using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods to facilitate participation.
  • Demonstrating patience, flexibility, and strong observation skills to adapt instructions and learning activities.
  • Liaising efficiently with classroom teachers, allied health professionals, and campus learning support teachers to ensure consistent support.
  • Maintaining accurate learning and communication support records, including progress notes on strategies used.
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Education Support (with previous experience desirable), or Certificate III in Education Support with recent relevant experience.
  • Skilled in working one-to-one with students with communication and learning needs.

About Our Campus:

Our campus is conveniently located just off the Calder Highway in the peaceful suburb of Kangaroo Flat. We cater to students from Bendigo, Kyneton, and Castlemaine areas. Our modern facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to cater for both online and face-to-face class teaching. We offer a small school atmosphere, perfect for personalised learning, with 52 students across years 3 to 12.
