Job Description

The role of Risk and Compliance Advisor is a key position within our organisation, supporting the business in managing risk and providing input into the development of frameworks, policies, standards, processes and procedures.

You will play a crucial role in collaborating and partnering with your team and stakeholders to advance understanding of our risk, obligation and control environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the monitoring of the effectiveness of controls, compliance with obligations and risk appetite.
  • Tracking, monitoring and remediation of risk events or compliance breaches.
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of change by applying Great Southern Bank's frameworks, policies, standards, processes and procedures.

As a Risk and Compliance Advisor, you will be reporting to the Head of Business Controls, CIO, and working closely with first- and second-line risk and compliance professionals across the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in financial services, with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the functions and priorities within a Risk and/or Business Controls team.
  • Familiarity with effective risk governance and reporting requirements for a financial institution.
  • Experience in Retail Banking and data analysis is highly desirable.

Additionally, you will need to hold a degree in technology, management, business, finance or a related discipline, and have knowledge of relevant finance industry standards, acts, codes and legislation.
