Job Overview

As a Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Centre for Crop and Disease Management's (CCDM) communications and extension activities.

This position is part of CCDM's commitment to build its profile as a leader in agricultural research, development, and extension.

  • Under supervision, research, write, and prepare written communication materials including media releases, blog posts, case studies, outward-facing reports, and website copy for publishing through relevant channels.
  • Assist with logistical requirements for events targeting stakeholders and support brand awareness.
  • Contribute to content creation and management of social media accounts according to the social media strategy, including X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Support creation of other communications materials including videos, podcasts, tools, and resources.
  • Support updates and management of the website through Wordpress.
  • Support reviewing and reporting on communications activities.
  • Support linking media requests with relevant researchers and general communications support to staff and students.

  • Manage and maintain social media presence.
  • Create visual materials to support communications initiatives.
