Key Leadership Role: Junior School Head

The role of Junior School Head is a pivotal leadership position within a reputable, values-driven educational institution in Darwin. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a crucial part in shaping the school's strategic direction and ensuring consistency across all aspects of the school.

This dynamic opportunity calls for a relational and values-led leader with a strong passion for student wellbeing, a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, and the ability to drive operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's strategic plan, aligning with the School Improvement Plan to ensure seamless execution across all areas.
  • Teaching and Learning: Lead the evaluation of teaching and learning programs, tailoring them to meet the diverse needs of students across various abilities.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the Business Manager to manage the Junior School budget effectively.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth daily operations and effective communication systems within the Junior School.

Selection Criteria:

  • Leadership Expertise: Demonstrate proven contemporary strategic leadership skills and experience in a primary setting or equivalent context.
  • Teaching and Learning Knowledge: Showcase superior knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning programs relevant to a culturally diverse and academically rigorous school environment.
  • Collaboration and Engagement: Illustrate collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills resulting in improved student outcomes.
  • Educational Qualifications: Hold a degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in Education.
