About the Role

The Senior Research Officer plays a critical role in supporting the research functions of the Child Death Review Unit. This position will undertake research and project tasks, support data analysis, and prepare reports in relation to this work. The role also provides strategic advice to senior staff on issues relating to child death prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and project tasks to support the Child Death Review Unit's strategic priorities.
  • Support data analysis and report writing to inform policy and practice.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior staff on issues related to child death prevention.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and completion of child death-related research and projects.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as statistics, epidemiology, social sciences, public health, and psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex matters, including assessment of systemic issues.
  • Understanding of current research methodology and best practices in social sciences research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
