Explosives Loader Specialist

Job Title: Explosives Loader Specialist
Location: Western Australia

About the Role

We are seeking experienced explosives loader specialists to join our team at the Hope Downs mine site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacturing and Delivering Bulk Explosives: Safely operate Mobile Processing Units (MPUs) to manufacture and deliver bulk explosives directly into blast holes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Maintaining Equipment: Perform thorough pre-start inspections and routine maintenance on MPU vehicles and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Quality Control and Documentation: Accurately mix and deliver explosives, maintaining precise records of operations and reporting any irregularities to supervisors.
  • Collaborating with Blasting Teams: Work closely with shotfirers and other team members to load blast holes with precision, adhering strictly to safety and design standards.
Requirements
  • Previous experience operating MPUs or similar equipment in an open-cut mining environment.
  • Experience in stock management at reload.
  • A solid commitment to safety and a zero-harm culture.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Interest in upskilling with a willingness to learn and grow within the industry.
Essential Competencies
  • National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain).
  • Heavy Rigid motor vehicle licence (HR).
  • Dangerous Goods Security Licence.
  • Forklift operator's licence.
  • Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screen.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment - with accompanying shift allowance (highly regarded - not essential).
