Senior Risk Management Lead

As a seasoned professional in operational risk management, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business by providing second line oversight and challenge to ensure effective risk management practices are implemented across all areas of the organization. This includes managing day-to-day risks as well as major projects/initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Developing, reviewing, and delivering operational risk assurance strategies across the business and overseeing controls to support alignment with strategic objectives, business outcomes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight of control design and implementation, recurring risks and controls review, and resilience assurance and support for regulatory notifications/consultations.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of a robust Operational Risk Management Framework, encompassing incident and issue management, controls assessment, independent assurance, and advisory reviews.
  • Representing the second line risk function on relevant risk forums, management risk committees, project working groups, and steering committees.
  • Contribution and preparation of reports to inform decision-making for key stakeholders.
  • Providing second line challenge and oversight on operational risk and governance frameworks.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in risk management roles.
  • Experience in dealing with business management, operational risk, technology risk, project, product, or process management issues in a financial institution or related field, or in a consultancy/audit capacity, at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) to meet competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to clearly communicate good risk management practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial services regulatory and compliance considerations.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to deliver solutions to risk issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
