**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our team in the Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) department. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be accountable to the Nurse Unit Manager and supported to enhance your skills and grow your career in a friendly and inclusive environment.

This part-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse with strong organisational skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will play a direct leadership role, supporting and supervising frontline team members, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of care.

You will work closely with healthcare professionals, including VMOs, Theatre Floor Coordinators, and other key stakeholders to ensure an efficient perioperative service and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritising patient admissions and ensuring timely preparation for surgery.
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Acting as a professional resource, demonstrating broad clinical knowledge.
  • Supervising and supporting staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives aligned with departmental goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Relevant experience in general surgical and/or day surgery nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years' surgical experience (ward-based and/or day surgery).
  • Strong focus on education and quality improvement.
  • Cannulation experience (advantageous).
