After Hours Operations Specialist

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and management of the nursing team, patient flow, and hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards.
- Support and liaise with Nurse Unit Managers and Team Leaders of wards and departments.
- Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost-efficiently managed.
- Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, and liaison with VMOs, Emergency Department, and paramedics.
- Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff.
- Take lead in emergency codes/situations.
- A Registered Nurse with 8+ years' experience and current AHPRA registration.
- Recent After Hours Coordinator or Nurse Unit Manager experience; critical care experience is an advantage.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- People leadership skills, including mentorship and coaching of team members.
- Demonstrated experience with coordination and allocation of staff.
- Awareness of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing processes.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Patient-centred, patient advocate, focused on delivery of quality care.
- Proactive, innovative, and committed to National Standards for Quality and Safety in Healthcare.
- High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office.
- Postgraduate qualification in Leadership and Management (or willingness to complete).
- Knowledge of relevant Enterprise Agreements.
- ALS trained with current certificate (or willingness to complete).
- Experience with computer-based programs Dimensions (staff timekeeping) and RiskMan (Incident management).
