Radiation Therapist Grade 2 Position

Peter Mac is a leading cancer research and treatment centre in Australia, and we are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team in Bendigo. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality cancer treatment to our patients.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with our team of experienced Radiation Therapists, Radiation Oncologists, and Medical Radiation Physicists to deliver cutting-edge cancer treatment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering radiation therapy treatment using ionising radiation, in accordance with treatment prescriptions and Peter Mac protocols and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Practice radiation therapy according to MRPBA Professional Capabilities for Medical Radiation Practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of radiation therapy principles and practice.
- Apply radiation therapy principles to a range of techniques in treatment and planning.
- Apply critical and reflective thinking to resolve radiation therapy clinical challenges.
- Apply understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology to clinical activities.
- Apply principles of medical radiation physics and instrumentation.
- Use patient information management systems appropriately.
- Assess the patient's capacity to receive care.
- Safely and effectively carry out own role and responsibilities relating to the implementation of a patient management plan.
- Recognise when input is required from more senior colleagues, and act to obtain their involvement.
- Prioritise workload appropriately, and establish realistic timeframes for the completion of work.
- Complete tasks on time and in self-directed manner, acting within own knowledge base.
