Educational Learning Support Specialist

Learning Support Officers in educational settings deliver tailored assistance to students with diverse learning needs, including disabilities. They collaborate closely with teachers to ensure that each student achieves academic success under their care.
This support encompasses activities related to student welfare, health, and wellbeing as required. Furthermore, Learning Support Officers may provide specialized support for pre-school students, those with visual or hearing impairments, and bilingual students.
- Clearance through a Working with Children Check
- Completion of mandatory training as per the Department of Education's requirements, and a willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to this role.
- Administration of Medications – training provided based on individual student needs.
- Health support training to be provided based on student needs (subject to transition provisions).
The ideal candidate should possess excellent teamwork skills, ability to work with students having emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities, awareness of the needs of such students, and effective communication skills.
