The Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Engineer (Structures) to lead the Structures branch and drive the development of multimodal structural engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction for Structures to ensure connected communities thriving in a sustainable and inclusive Queensland.
  • Lead the development of an integrated, inclusive, and engaged cohort of bridge and structural technical professionals.
  • Manage risk effectively and efficiently, driving value for money and innovative solutions associated with structural assets.
  • Ensure ongoing technical capability is maintained at the highest level in all aspects of structural engineering with strict technical governance.
  • Influence and actively participate in the Engineering and Technology branch leadership team.
Requirements
  • A four-year Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (Structural) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
  • Unregistered applicants are encouraged to apply for the position, provided they are registered as an RPEQ with the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland at the time of appointment.
What We Offer

The role is offered at classification level SES 3 Low as an SES Contract and will be based in Brisbane, Queensland with flexible working arrangements on offer.
