About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to join our team in the Cycling and Walking Unit of Transport and Main Roads. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the delivery of the Active Transport Investment Program (ATIP) and contribute to the development and monitoring of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, monitor, and review local government grant programs, including analysis of project data to manage prioritization, financial, and risk management aspects of the programs.
  • Analyze program funding, project budgets, and delivery schedules in line with approved targets and provide advice on variances, trends, and financial positions.
  • Develop, foster, manage, and maintain strong and effective relationships with program partners and other key stakeholders involved with the ATIP.
  • Prepare correspondence and briefings on behalf of and for the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, Executive Director, and Director as required.
  • Actively manage program and project data through computerized systems, including 3 PCM and SAP.
  • Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of systems, processes, and interfaces with program stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in using program and project management reporting systems.
  • Ability to apply program management principles and methodology to manage projects and achieve project and program outcomes.
  • Ability to identify, examine, and critically interpret complex information, and think laterally to generate options and identify long-term consequences to justify appropriate solutions to issues.
  • Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency, and maintains a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach to working with key stakeholders and relevant parties towards maintaining mutually beneficial relations and uses networks to create future opportunities for partnerships.
