Role Overview

Everyday Independence is seeking a highly skilled Developmental Educator to join our team in Albury. As a Developmental Educator, you will work with participants and their support teams to develop new skills and habits, and help them overcome barriers that prevent them from engaging with their local community and the wider world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments using our LEAD evidence-based assessment tool
  • Liaise with the interdisciplinary team to wrap the right supports around the participant and their family
  • Support a person in their everyday environment – home, work, school or community
  • Capacity building of their support team to provide a capable environment
  • Attend peer group supervision/mentoring and professional learning to help grow your expertise and skills
  • Participate in a weekly team meeting and share a story of impact
  • Complete reflective practice to develop evidence-based plans
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor or Masters of Disability (or equivalent) and be eligible to be a member of the DEAI (Membership required upon commencement)
  • Be passionate professionals with a strong advocacy for removing barriers using the social model of therapy
  • Show empathy and understanding, while being open and non-judgmental
  • Be driven to see high impact outcomes in people's lives
  • Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check
  • Hold a valid drivers license
