Homeless Support Professional

As a Homeless Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk. You will be part of our Homeless and Community Services team, focusing on our Men's, Women's, and Youth programs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with vulnerable populations, particularly women and those experiencing mental health issues. Your expertise will enable you to provide personalized support, advocacy, and skill development to help break the cycle of homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Client Advocacy: Advocate for client choice and independence, ensuring that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Case Management: Monitor and review case plans with the case manager to ensure seamless service delivery and effective support.
- Social Work Support: Assist with intake and assessment of clients, maintain accurate reports and files, and provide trauma-informed practice to individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Team Collaboration: Engage actively in team meetings, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe and inclusive working environment.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working with homelessness, women, and mental health services.
- Strong proficiency in working with vulnerable populations and knowledge of best practices for Specialist Homelessness funded Services.
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work) or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid Certificate and Driver's License.
- $37.35 per hour (SCHADS Level 3.1) plus penalty rates, sleepover allowance, and 11.5% superannuation.
