Job Description

We are seeking a casual Child/Youth Support Worker to make a positive difference to children and young people in out-of-home care, supporting them through our Key Assets foster program.

The successful candidate will undertake structured supervision and observation of contact with family members, including participating in activities both within and outside our premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and present complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of work undertaken and providing these as required in a timely manner, in line with our policies and procedures.

About You

  • Must possess a full, current driver's license.
  • Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent qualifications in youth or social care is advantageous.
  • Prior experience working directly with children/young people, including teenagers, in the care system or other relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children who have trauma-related challenging behaviours.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to children's services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse staff at all levels, recognising potential language barriers and cultural differences.
  • Must possess, or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
