Sustainable Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking two motivated individuals to join our team as Aboriginal Trainee Environmental Health Officers. This is a unique opportunity to work with us, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the health and well-being of our community.
About the RoleThis role involves working on environmental health issues in our city, including inspecting swimming pools, food businesses, and other establishments. You will also be responsible for responding to enquiries and investigating complaints related to environmental health.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to study a Bachelor degree in Environmental Health at Western Sydney University by distance part-time, while receiving structured on-the-job training and mentorship from our experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and investigations related to environmental health
- Respond to enquiries and resolve complaints
- Study a Bachelor degree in Environmental Health at Western Sydney University
- Participate in on-the-job training and professional development opportunities
To be eligible for this traineeship, you must identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and be able to successfully enrol in the Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University. You will also need to have a current Class C driver's licence and relevant skills and qualifications.
Desirable qualities include a strong interest in environmental health issues, excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and analytical and problem-solving abilities.
