This is an exciting time to join our team as we set new standards in the Australian hospitality scene. As our Payroll and Finance Officer, you will be responsible for managing the weekly payroll cycle, preparing monthly accruals, assisting in month-end closing, calculating termination payments, and managing the payroll financial year-end process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire payroll process, from processing to submitting payments, and ensure timely statutory reporting.
  • Prepare and verify monthly salary and on-cost accruals.
  • Assist in month-end closing, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Calculate termination, redundancy, and other special payments.
  • Oversee the payroll financial year-end process.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on Superannuation, Payroll Tax, FBT & WGEA.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to manage payroll inquiries and compliance.
  • Project manage the onboarding of a new Food & Beverage department, creating roster templates and reporting tools.
  • Be responsible for system administration and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Post daily revenue journals to ensure room revenue balances are correct.
  • Review Night Audit packs daily to ensure accuracy of rebates, paid outs, officer checks, discounts, and complimentary forms.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts, cheques, foreign currencies, and arrange for banking in a prompt manner.
  • Maintain adequate cash floats to meet operational requirements and ensure accountability through house bank contracts, monthly audits, and cash variance reports.

About You:

  • Prior experience in a hotel setting is essential.
  • You possess an energetic and enthusiastic attitude, with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
  • You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

A Competitive Salary Package: Our estimated salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
