Job Overview

The Area Director of Purchasing is a critical role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the purchasing function. This position ensures the efficient and effective receipt, storage, and issuance of products, as well as maintaining general storerooms.

This leadership role requires a candidate with a minimum of 6 years of comparable experience in inventory management systems, vendor relationships, and shipping procedures. They must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and possess excellent communication skills.

A flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required for this position. The successful candidate will maintain a positive work atmosphere by effectively communicating with guests, vendors, and team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and inspecting stock and food items from local vendors and direct shipments.
  • Maintaining the requisition system and adhering to quality standards.
  • Placing orders with vendors, updating inventories, and handling shipping and packaging logistics.
  • Properly receiving, storing, and issuing products, while maintaining general storerooms.
  • Assisting with receiving and delivering food and beverage products, ensuring timely delivery to storage locations.
  • Oversight of inbound UPS and FedEx deliveries, ensuring timely receipt and delivery of packages.
  • Responsible for all aspects of customs clearance and import procedures.
  • Maintaining daily and monthly receiving/outbound logs to ensure accurate accounting of packages and deliveries.
  • Coordinating with departments for product release and delivery of items maintained by purchasing for property-wide use.
  • Assisting with proper rotation and quality control of inbound products for Food and Beverage teams.
  • Maintaining the loading dock and receiving area appearance.
  • Rotating soda, water, and beer items, and coordinating check requests upon COD deliveries.
  • Verifying completed and closed-out requisitions.
  • Assisting with end-of-month inventories.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of storerooms and designated workstations.
  • Maintaining an out-of-stock/goods-not-received list for follow-up purposes.
