Job Summary:

  • Promote and embed cancer screening resources across community programs.

  • Coordinate planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals.
  • Deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education.
  • Assist in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote cancer screening within the community.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support to clients and families.
  • Facilitate communication between hospitals, Aboriginal Medical Services, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless referrals.
  • Design and deliver health education programs tailored to the needs of the community.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that reflect cultural safety and awareness.

Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related fields.
  • Current QLD Driver's Licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and National Police Check.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
