About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Counsel to join our Environment and Planning team at Empire Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on planning issues, planning approvals, and land and environment court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising clients on planning issues, including development applications and environmental assessments
  • Providing expert advice on planning approvals, including DA's and EAs
  • Representing clients in land and environment court proceedings, including appeals and prosecutions
  • Providing advice on contaminated land and heritage sites
  • Advising on climate change and its impact on planning and development
  • Providing advice on power, resources, and infrastructure projects
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental law and planning
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of planning and environmental laws
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
