Position Overview
We are inviting applications for casual Residential Services Assistants to support our Care Community and Sub Acute facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare meals tailored to each resident's specific dietary needs and deliver these meals efficiently.
Our organization operates multiple Care Communities and Sub Acute sites, ensuring a diverse environment for service delivery.

As part of your role, you will work independently in the kitchen while also collaborating with a team. Successful candidates will undergo a week of paid training across various Care Communities to ensure confidence and competence in their duties.
The Central Allocations Unit manages casual bank shifts, which are available seven days a week. Our electronic rostering system facilitates shift assignments based on staff availability, communicated via text or phone call.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must reside in the local region.

To apply, please provide two referees, including your current direct manager and another supervisor. Additionally, a cover letter, resume, and any relevant qualifications are required.

To maintain your position with the Central Allocations Unit, a commitment of two shifts per week is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately maintain availability in the electronic rostering system and accept shifts as per your schedule
  • Prepare the kitchen and dining areas for meal service as assigned
  • Cook and serve meals according to residents' individual dietary requirements
  • Adhere to safe food handling practices and maintain necessary records
  • Ensure the dining environment is safe and welcoming for residents
  • Perform cleaning and laundry tasks as required
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration
  • Engage in annual performance evaluations
  • Commit to ongoing mandatory training and education

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Handling Practices certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of individuals
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to person-centered care and respectful interactions with residents, visitors, and staff
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity is preferred but not mandatory
