Senior Infrastructure Engineer Job Description

A skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer is sought to lead the design, delivery, and optimization of Azure-based infrastructure solutions within a large enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable Azure infrastructure solutions
  • Lead cloud and infrastructure transformation projects
  • Drive automation, performance, cost optimisation, and resilience
  • Provide technical leadership across Azure, identity, networking, security
  • Mentor junior engineers and uplift team capability
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and operations teams
  • Ensure documentation, governance, and change practices are followed
Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • 8+ years in senior infrastructure/cloud roles within complex enterprise environments
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, Networking, Site Recovery, Cost Management, Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, PowerShell, Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Disaster Recovery, Monitoring, and Security controls
  • Azure Solution Architect certification (required)
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring skills
  • Proven track record of delivering modern, resilient infrastructure solutions
