The Salvation Army, a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest charities, seeks a proactive Ministry Assistant to support the Corps Leader in delivering its mission.

About the Role

This permanent part-time position (30.4 hours per week) based in Southport, QLD, involves various responsibilities:

  • Administration Tasks: Record statistical information, Generous Life Giving Records, and maintain the Corps Directory, Rolls, and Records in accordance with TSA procedures.
  • Doorways Programme Coordinator: Lead and coordinate the programme, including maintenance of the Emergency Relief Pantry.
  • Centre Management: Assist the Corps Leader in managing the Centre, including hall hire engagement, security monitoring, and property maintenance responsibilities.
  • Corps Fellowship Gatherings: Coordinate opportunities for fellowship gatherings and relational connections.
  • Public Fundraising: Assist the Community Engagement Worker in operating the Red Shield Appeal and other public fundraising activities.
  • TSA Policies Compliance: Ensure all ministry activities are carried out in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
Your Qualifications

We seek a candidate with:

  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Pastoral assistance skills, including offering prayer and explaining the Christian Gospel.
  • Experience in a Ministry position (desirable).
  • A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable).
  • Capacity to facilitate groups and one-to-one interactions, particularly in faith-based settings.
  • A membership or soldier status within a local Salvation Army Corps.
  • Experience working in a multicultural context.
  • An enrolled and active Solider/Adherent status of the Salvation Army (preferred).
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check.
  • A national police record check.
  • A current QLD Driver's Licence.
  • Completed and up-to-date Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS, and Bullying and Harassment training modules.
