The role of Civil Litigation Clerk requires an experienced and proactive individual who can manage the workflow of multiple fee earners effectively. Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with clients and staff on daily matters;
  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence;
  • Billing;
  • Opening, maintaining, and closing electronic files;
  • Administrative tasks including diary and travel management, answering phones, and recording messages;

In order to excel in this position, you must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to work well with others in a team environment and demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Positive attitude and ability to manage workload effectively;
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint, working knowledge of Excel, and typing speed of 60+ wpm;
  • Experience using document management and billing systems;
  • Strong organisational and file management skills;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Initiative and ability to work unsupervised;
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Legal Secretary;
