Job Description

As an Addiction Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction. You will work closely with clients to assess their needs, identify treatment options, and develop personalized plans to help them overcome their challenges.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Bendigo, Victoria, with a salary in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5. You will be reporting directly to the Team Leader and working as part of a dedicated team passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities
  • Provide liaison, support, and interventions to improve the health and well-being of individuals, family members, and significant others experiencing addiction-related harms.
  • Conduct initial intake and assessment activities, including assessing client risk and need.
  • Develop care plans with clear strategies to monitor and measure outcomes and desired goals.
  • Identify risks to clients, including Family Violence, and bring them to the attention of the appropriate manager as soon as possible.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • A minimum qualification of Diploma Community Services.
  • A current Victorian Driver licence.
  • A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment.
  • An AOD skillset or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of commencing employment.
  • Completed Forensic Fundamentals or obtain it within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PDF.
