Culinary Services Specialist Role Overview

The Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network seeks a highly skilled Culinary Services Specialist to join our team at Quorn Health Service. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take charge of delivering exceptional culinary experiences in our kitchen.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Cook who can orchestrate the preparation, presentation, and quality of our meals. As a key player in our kitchen, you will be responsible for crafting diverse menu selections, overseeing food procurement, and maintaining impeccable standards of food production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences;
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production;
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage food costs;
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations;
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide tailored meal solutions for patients and staff.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent culinary skills, attention to detail, and strong leadership abilities. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in cookery or a related field (e.g., hospitality management);
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting;
  • Proven track record of providing high-quality food services and managing kitchen operations;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, patients, and clients;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
