Senior Leadership Position

This pivotal leadership role oversees the end-to-end delivery of services across the Higher Degree Research lifecycle from admissions and scholarships through to candidature management and examination.

The Opportunity

  • We have several externally focused research models ranging from global opportunities to industry internships to employer-sponsored PhD programs.

As a senior leader, you'll lead a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering a seamless, client-focused HDR experience to candidates and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across faculties, schools, and professional units to embed innovative systems, streamline operations, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support academic excellence, strengthen researcher capability, and contribute to the strategic priorities of our UNSW Research Plan and Progress for All strategy.
Requirements:
  • A postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in Higher Degree Research management.
  • Proven experience managing high-performing teams with a client-first mindset.
  • Expertise in HDR policy, funding, systems, and national/international research trends.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
