Electrical Maintenance Technician

The Transport for NSW New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project involves the design, build and maintenance of 554 train carriages. The new fleet will provide customers with a comfortable and efficient journey across Sydney and the Central Coast, Newcastle, the South Coast, the Blue Mountains and Lithgow.

As part of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the trains are safe and reliable for passengers. You will work in a purpose-built facility at Kangy Angy on the Central Coast, where you will use your electrical trade skills to maintain and repair the trains.

Our maintenance team is growing, and we need people with strong electrical trade backgrounds to join us. You may be a domestic electrician who enjoys workshop work, cabling, crimping and wiring without driving from job to job and wants a day shift with weekends off. These positions will be offered as day shifts rostered at an average of 38 hours per week, paid under the UGL Kangy Angy NIF Enterprise Agreement on a base hourly rate with allowances.

This role is based at our Kangy Angy maintenance facility on the Central Coast. If you have an Australian recognised Electrical trade qualification, enjoy working in a workshop environment, and can commit to a safe work environment and practices, then this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on the train's electrical systems.
  • Fault find and diagnose issues with the train's electrical systems.
  • Rectify and test electrical faults.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
