About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Biochemistry Specialist - Quality Assurance. This role is responsible for ensuring all work practices and procedures comply with NATA/TGA/NPACC regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solid diagnostic skills relating biochemistry with expert knowledge of quality assurance systems.
  • Ensure all work practices and procedures comply with NATA/TGA/NPACC regulations.
  • Experience working with multiple instrument platforms and manual techniques.
  • Sound experience with laboratory-based analytical tasks, method validation and verification, as well as clinical result validation and interpretation.
  • Sound experience with routine internal quality control and external quality assurance procedures.
  • Solid grounding in pathology-based IT and quality systems.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise, and skills within the respective discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience validating and reporting patient results.
  • Experience liaising with pathologists and other relevant health professionals.
  • Experience with biochemistry instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.
  • Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision.
  • An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence.

  • A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member.

Estimated Salary

$90,000 - $120,000 per annum.
