
Insurance Claims Specialist

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Claims Specialist to join our dynamic and growing organization.
Job OverviewThis role is responsible for managing the initial contact point for insurance claim submissions and evaluating eligibility for superannuation access under various grounds. The successful candidate will be accountable for accurately managing their claim portfolio, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), business rules, and regulatory requirements.
As a key member of our team, you will demonstrate empathy and compassion in every interaction with potentially vulnerable individuals. Upholding a high level of professionalism when working with internal and external stakeholders is essential.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Lodgment and triaging of claims
- Management of Death/Terminal Illness (DTI), Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Income Protection (IP), and Permanent Incapacity (PI) claims
- Effective communication throughout the lifecycle of each claim
- Proactive follow-up on receipt of claim documents with members and beneficiaries
- Timely action and completion of claim work within agreed SLAs
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Previous experience as a Claims Officer or similar role
- Superannuation or industry experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Process-oriented with great attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
Operating hours will be 8 am to 5 pm with rotating shifts.
