About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be part of a 24/7 care team to support a non-verbal male with an Acquired Brain Injury.

  • Personal Cares: assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Pressure Area Care and Skin Integrity Support: maintain skin health and prevent pressure sores
  • Enteral Feeding: manage tube feeding for clients with swallowing difficulties
  • Suctioning: remove secretions from clients' airways
  • Medication Administration: provide medication to clients as prescribed by medical professionals
  • Bowel Care Support: manage bowel health and prevent constipation
  • Catheter Management: change catheters and manage urinary tract infections
  • Understanding & Management of Dysphagia: assess and manage swallowing difficulties
  • Non-Invasive Ventilation Management: manage ventilation equipment for clients requiring breathing assistance
  • Meal Preparation, Feeding Assistance and Management at Mealtimes: prepare and assist clients with meals
  • Supporting in Pain Management: identify and report pain levels to medical professionals
  • Manual Handling Including Repositioning & Transfers: safely move and reposition clients to prevent injury
  • General Household Tasks: assist with household chores and cleaning
Your Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to clients with complex needs, maintaining accurate records of client care and progress, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
