Job Description

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to individuals living with complex needs. This includes supporting clients with personal care, community access, and daily routines, as well as managing complex behaviors and administering medication.

Working in participants' homes or in purpose-built Vertical Villages, you will be responsible for implementing behavior support plans and using de-escalation techniques to promote a safe and supportive environment.

You will also provide meaningful, person-centered care to NDIS participants, collaborating with clinicians, case workers, and families to achieve individualized goals and enhance quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting clients with personal care, community access, and daily routines
  • Managing complex behaviors and administering medication
  • Implementing behavior support plans and using de-escalation techniques
  • Providing meaningful, person-centered care to NDIS participants
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fields
  • Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
  • Bachelor's in Nursing is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behavior support
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including clear case note writing
  • Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a team
