Director of Counselling Services

This is a mission-driven opportunity to create a supportive ongoing formation culture.

The Role
  • You will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the provision of foundational support for each seminarian's overall priestly formation.
Main Responsibilities
  • Provide counselling and accompany seminarians on their journey of formation.
  • Work with teaching staff, the Seminary psychologist, and other internal and external stakeholders to facilitate each seminarian's interior transformation and growth in pastoral identity and cultural sensitivity.
Requirements
  • A personal commitment to Catholic teachings, values, ethos, and mission.
  • Graduate qualifications and accreditation in counselling or psychology.
  • An understanding of human development, dynamics of the human person and groups, with insights into formation for priesthood.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and empathy.
  • A high level of discretion and ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and develop strong working relationships.
