Roofing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Roofing Specialist to deliver roofing and stormwater solutions for prefabricated steel buildings across Cairns and the greater Far North Queensland region.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that involves installing roofing systems, guttering, downpipes, flashings, and rainwater goods on steel-framed buildings. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both roofing plumbing and capable of working safely and efficiently across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install roofing systems, guttering, downpipes, flashings, and rainwater goods on steel-framed buildings
  • Fitting and connecting stormwater plumbing systems in compliance with relevant codes
  • Installation of metal roofing on steel-framed structures
  • Installation of insulation, cladding, and roofing materials to required standards
  • Interpreting roofing layouts, construction drawings, and site plans accurately
  • Working closely with builders, metal fabricators, and other trades to coordinate project delivery
  • Operation of tools and machinery safely, including drills, grinders, welders, cutters, and elevated work platforms (EWPs)
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and rectify any installation defects
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) regulations
  • Clear communication with supervisors, clients, and team members
Requirements:
  • Trade qualifications in Roof Plumbing (Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in roof plumbing, including gutters, flashings, downpipes, and stormwater drainage systems
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction documents
  • Competent in the use of tools of the trade: hand and power tools, safety equipment, and elevated work platforms
  • Physically fit, capable of working at heights, and handling materials safely
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Strong understanding of building safety regulations and industry best practices
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid Queensland Driver's Licence
  • Construction White Card
  • Working at Heights certification
