Fire and Emergency Services Role

The Queensland Fire Department is seeking an auxiliary firefighter to provide emergency service support. As a member of the emergency services agency, you will be responsible for ensuring public safety and protecting property across Queensland.

Purpose of the Role

This role is focused on delivering high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services through a single agency.

Key Requirements
  • Australian permanent resident status
  • Manual C Class driver's license
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station

We expect our auxiliary firefighters to commit to regular training sessions, obtaining a MRV license, participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, and adhering to our policies and procedures.

Accountabilities
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents
  • Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and training courses
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner
  • Contribute to community education activities to promote public safety and emergency preparedness
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
