Senior Systems Engineer

A major financial services organization is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead a large-scale Active Directory transformation program.

This is a 6-month contract with high potential for extension. You will be responsible for estimating, designing, installing, configuring, integrating, and deploying information technology system components.

  • Develop and implement rapid, automated, and safe deployment of technical solutions.
  • Lead support and technical troubleshooting responsibilities for production systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement for the system and team processes.
  • Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate tasks, monitor system health, and enhance system performance.
  • Remediate performance issues across Entra ID, AD, and related services in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain and improve the security posture of the AD environment by implementing best practices for authentication, access controls, and auditing.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong on-premises Active Directory engineering experience.
  • Azure Active Directory (AAD), Modern Authentication, and Authorization protocols.
  • Entra ID experience.
  • PowerShell scripting experience for automation, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
  • Good understanding of general Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and the Microsoft Identity ecosystem.
  • Active Directory running in virtualized environments.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of AD security best practices, including user authentication, identity management, and access controls.
Desirable:
  • Experience with GitHub or deploying changes via code.
