Senior Legal Advisor

The role presents an opportunity to engage with various sectors, including law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
Our in-house legal team supports AUSTRAC in its regulatory, intelligence and corporate functions, providing expert advice on a range of legal matters.
- Providing authoritative legal guidance on enforcement actions and litigation
- Interpreting statutory requirements
- Administering administrative justice
- Advising on commercial, contract, property and employment law
We seek flexibility and adaptability in the allocation of legal work across our streams.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A strong legal qualification and practicing certificate
- Significant post-admission experience in areas such as statutory interpretation, administrative law, civil litigation and regulatory compliance
- Expertise in applying technical skills and knowledge, and providing sound advice
Key responsibilities include supporting AUSTRAC's regulatory functions, contributing to policy development and delivering legal training to staff members.
You will also manage external agency requests and serve as a liaison for specified business areas.
Eligibility criteria include being an Australian citizen, undertaking AUSTRAC's pre-engagement checks and obtaining Baseline Security Clearance.
