Join our perioperative team as an experienced instrument technician and educator. This is a full-time position requiring participation in an on-call roster, rotating weekends.

We are located in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne with 186 registered beds and a wide range of services including orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, gynaecology, and neurology.

Role Overview

This experienced role will include:

  • Organizing training sessions for all CSSD staff.
  • Handling repair requests.
  • Ensuring sterilizing practice standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Performing duties in all work areas of the department (decontamination, packing, sterilization, loan instruments, and endoscopy).
  • Testing of machinery (washers, sterilizers, etc.).
  • Completing audits when required.
  • Able to plan, manage resources, and understand the importance of prioritized equipment.
  • Informing the manager or floor coordinator of any deviations from normal procedures.
  • Performing other duties as specified by the manager or peri-operative services manager.
