Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cost Management Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely and rigorous cost performance monitoring, analysis, control and reporting across projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain project cost control plans and Work Breakdown Structures within the project or program.
  • Assist in managing and updating project cost forecasts for the current financial year and the Estimate at Completion for the project life cycle.
  • Provide appropriate time phasing for the financial year and project life forecast aligned to the project schedule and procurement plan.
  • Support the administration of project change control processes and development of internal resource forecasts.
  • Ensure accurate capture of project cost data, including statuses of approved changes, remaining contingency, risk and opportunities forecast, commitments, actual costs to date and estimated cost to complete.
  • Prepare and review monthly accruals and cost recoveries, budget reallocations and transfers.
  • Deliver organisational outcomes for customers, people, and communities through the five ways of leading behaviours.

About You

  • Extensive experience in cost management or equivalent management responsibility in a high-risk environment.
  • Ability to accurately respond to evolving contexts and understand complexities of public operating context.
  • Ability to influence, coach and communicate cost management concepts and principles to others.

Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 7 ($108,000 - $121,000) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
